The Centre d’action bénévole L’Actuel offers a tax return service to low-income people.

The service is offered to residents of: Vaudreuil-Dorion, Pincourt, L’Île-Perrot, Notre-Dame-de-L’Île-Perrot, Terrasse-Vaudreuil, Pointe-des-Cascades, St-Lazare, Hudson, Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac, L’Île-Cadieux, Les Cèdres.

Tax returns are done by volunteers March 4 to April 18, 2024

Appointments are also available throughout the year.

People must make an appointment by dialing 450 455-3331 ext. 222, starting February 1, 2024.

Operation

  1. The user must call 450 455-3331, ext. 222 to obtain an appointment;
  2. The user must come to the appointment at L’Actuel to drop off the documents, fill out the documentation form and sign the authorizations;
  3. A volunteer completes and transmits the tax return.;
  4. A time slot is given to the user to pick up his/her documents at L’Actuel.

Eligibility Criteria

The income for 2023 must not exceed:

– $35,000 for a single person;

– $45,000 for a couple;

– $45,000 for an adult with one child ($2,500 for each additional child or post-secondary student);

Interest income must be less than $1,000.

 

We complete simple returns only. Bankrupcies and companies are not accepted.

 

Volunteers DO NOT prepare returns for individuals with complex tax situations, including:

-Returns of deceased individuals;
-Individuals filing for bankruptcy;
-Self-employed individuals;
-Individuals reporting capital gains or losses
-Individuals reporting employment expenses;
-Individuals reporting business or rental income and expenses
-Individuals who sold a residence in 2023

For tenants

-Statement 31 given to them by their landlord.

For landlords

-Municipal tax bill.

For seniors 70 years of age or older

– Current and previous year’s lease (for apartment buildings);

– Lease or lease schedule (for seniors’ residences);

– Copy of the information return (for condominiums);                                       

– Receipts for certain home maintenance services (services related to domestic tasks or personal assistance) such as housekeeping, snow removal, meals on wheels, etc.
