A member of the Fédération des centres d’action bénévole du Québec, L’Actuel is the reference in volunteering and offers services to organizations, seniors, convalescents, those in loss of autonomy, as well as families and individuals who are isolated and in difficulty. Proceeds from its Thrift shop make it possible to finance several of its services to the population.
The mission of the Centre d’action bénévole L’Actuel is to promote and foster volunteer action in the various sectors of human activity and meet the needs of the community in three areas:

40 Years of History
February 10, 1982 |
First meeting to set up an interim committee to found a volunteer centre. |
March 1982 |
The government grants its charter to the Centre de bénévolat Vaudreuil-Soulanges. In April 1982, the Centre de bénévolat moves into its premises, graciously provided by the city of Dorion, located at 192 St-Charles Street. The Centre offers four services: the soup kitchen, meals in Île-Perrot, recreation for the disabled and the loan of orthopedic devices provided by the Red Cross. |
1984 |
Expansion of the head office. |
1988 |
The Centre changes its corporate name to become the Centre d’action bénévole L’Actuel. |
1990 |
The Centre has two permanent employees and 123 active volunteers. |
1991 |
The Centre moves to 88 Adèle Street in Vaudreuil-Dorion. |
1997 |
Completion of a major fundraising campaign for the expansion of the Centre’s premises and start of major expansion to offer all services under one roof. |
2004 |
Kitchen modernization and purchase of a van for the transportation of the beneficiaries. Inauguration of the new premises. |
2008 |
25th anniversary of the Centre d’action bénévole L’Actuel and redevelopment of the sorting department. |
2013 |
Une action pour l’avenir expansion project begins. The Centre has 17 employees and 264 volunteers. |
2022 |
40th anniversary of the Centre d’action bénévole L’Actuel. The Centre offers more than 20 services to the community. |
